Ian Poulter – Posi+v

This photoshoot was to launch the innovative energy drink POSI+IV with English, PGA Tour and European Tour, professional golfer Ian Poulter as it’s global brand ambassador.

The multi-year agreement was brokered by sports marketing agency Aurum PMG. Creating joint marketing collateral and social media engagement as part of the relationship.

We worked with Formidable Productions to produce the studio-lit (flash lighting on location) advertising imagery whilst on set of the commercial.

Ian Poulter has previously been as high as number 4 in the world rankings and has a formidable Ryder Cup record. Read more with behind the scenes with Ian Poulter and the Posi+iv Facebook Page.

Golf Punk Goodwood, England

Here’s the Golf Punk https://www.golfpunkhq.com/ Goodwood photoshoot at the Goodwood Golf Course on the south coast in West Sussex. My first shoot for Golf Punk. We did a half days recceing the week before. Driving around in my own stylish golf buggy shown here in The Telegraph.

Using fill-in flash again here which allows mixing flash lighting in this case in the foreground, the keep the subject cleanly lit. You can even make the background look a bit moody too. Makes it feel like you’re in a studio environment too sometimes.

As mentioned in the Bunker Babes shoot we used the Profoto Pro7b battery pack and flash head for this shoot. Heavy to lug around but no need to plug in to the mains with spare battery packs. With a silver umbrella (similar to the Profoto umbrella) to shape the light instead of a square soft box (can be too soft sometimes – Elinchrom models). For me it has to have a grainy, dappled effect inside to give the light the right amount of punch. There will be a youtube video soon on this though here’s a good example on the Fstoppers website.

Golf Punk Almeria, Spain

Whilst working for Daylight Studios in Madrid we naturally collaborated with a big production companies in producing some amazing photoshoots. From world famous football players like David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane and Roberto Carlos to Formula 1 drivers Fernando Alonso and Juan Pablo Montoya. For big brands; Pepsi, 7UP, adidas, Bentley, EA Sports Fifa as well as a host of international fashion magazines, cosmetics and clothing comapnies; Vogue, El Corte Ingles, Zara etc.

So I got to know the amazing locations Spain has to offer. Especially in the southern region, Andalucia. Which came in handy for this Golf Punk Spain shoot.

We used modelling agency Target in Malaga with one day shooting at Desert Spring Gold Club and another off in a hidden, wild desert location near Las Tabernas. There’s also a shoot I did for them closer to home in West Sussex at the Goodwood Golf Course.

The first two images with the golf course as a background use fill-in flash. Which adds flash lighting to daylight lighting. Done well it gives a nice punch quality of lighting. I used my old Profoto Pro7b battery pack and flash head for this shoot. Heavy to lug around but no need to plug in to the mains.

Client: Golf Punk. Location Desert Springs – Almeria, Spain.
